After President Donald Trump suggested that electoral irregularities were occurring in Pennsylvania, among other states, Gov. Tom Wolf sent out a tweet promising to count all ballots before certifying a winner in the presidential contest.
"We still have over 1 million mail ballots to count in Pennsylvania," wrote Wolf, a Democrat. "I promised Pennsylvanians that we would count every vote and that's what we're going to do."
Trump said at a White House speech that "We were getting ready to win this election. Frankly, we did win this election," before claiming that additional action will be necessary to "ensure the integrity" of the vote, Breitbart reported.
Wolf added in another message on Twitter that he regarded this to be a "partisan attack on Pennsylvania's elections, our votes, and democracy. Our counties are working tirelessly to process votes as quickly AND as accurately as possible. Pennsylvania will have a fair election and we will count every vote."
Although at the time of his speech, Trump had amassed a lead of more than 600,000 votes in the state, a large number of ballots believed to be from Democrats had yet to be counted.
