Gov. Perry's Video Slams Obama on Border Surge

Texas Gov. Rick Perry has called on President Barack Obama to secure the border with Mexico in the first Internet ad from his new political action committee RickPAC.

The 90-second commercial, which debuted Tuesday on the committee’s website, centers on the massive influx of illegal immigrants, especially unaccompanied children, into south Texas.

The ad features the GOP governor's response to the crisis, including sending 1,000 National Guard troops to the troubled zone and testifying before Congress about the thousands of Central American migrants illegally crossing the border into the United States.

The ad also focuses on Perry attacking the Obama administration for not dealing with the border surge, calling it "a failure of leadership."

Perry, who has strongly suggested that he will run for the White House in 2016, is shown in the ad, attacking Obama, saying, "Leadership is not about making a good speech. Leadership is about making a difference."

The ad concluded with a message that says, "Stand with Rick Perry and elect leaders who will secure out border."

A Perry spokesman said last week that RickPAC was created to support GOP candidates "around the country that share the same goals and philosophies as Governor Perry, which are low taxes, limited government, border security and job creation," the Houston Chronicle reported.
