Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s favorability ratings continue to trend the wrong way. Nearly as many Republicans now hold an unfavorable view of him as those who view him favorably, a new Washington Post-ABC News poll shows.

Perry, who was once the front-runner in polls, now has an unfavorability rating of 38, up from 24 in October and just 11 in September. GOP members viewing him favorably are now at 42 percent down from 49 percent in October.

The poll also found that businessman Herman Cain, who has been hit with charges of sexual harassment, is starting to slide as well. In October, just 17 percent or Republicans had a negative view of him but that number has more than doubled to 36 percent. His favorability rating has declined from 52 percent in October to 50 percent in November’s poll.

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is viewed favorably by 57 percent of those GOP members surveyed, and 23 percent, unfavorably, the poll showed.
