South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg said Republicans will disparage Democrats no matter how far left – or moderate – they are.
"It's time to stop worrying about what the Republicans will say," he said at Tuesday night's debate among 10 of the Demoratic primary hopefuls.
"If it's true we embrace a far left agenda, they will say we're crazy socialist. If we embrace a conservative agenda, they will say we're a bunch of crazy socialists."
"Let's stand up for the right policy, go up there, and defend it."
