Rep. Pete King said Thursday that White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci was "angry and in a bad mood" when he launched into a profane-laced tirade against top Trump aides Reince Priebus and Steve Bannon.

"Anthony Scaramucci just was angry and in a bad mood," the New York Republican told Wolf Blitzer on CNN. "He was angry and just says what is on his mind.

"That's the Scaramucci style. How long it will work, I don't know.

"People said it wouldn't work for Donald Trump — and he is the problem of the United States," King said.

Scaramucci, whose appointment last week prompted Sean Spicer to resign, ripped Priebus, President Donald Trump's chief of staff, and Bannon, the White House chief strategist, in an interview with Ryan Lizza of The New Yorker.

Scaramucci, a former Wall Street investment banker, called Lizza late Wednesday after the Washington correspondent tweeted that Trump had a White House dinner with him, Fox News host Sean Hannity and former Fox executive Bill Shine.

"They'll all be fired by me," Scaramucci told Lizza. "I'll get to the person who leaked that to you.

"Reince Priebus — if you want to leak something — he'll be asked to resign very shortly."

Scaramucci, who has vowed to ferret out leaks at the White House, also demanded that Lizza identify his source. The correspondent did not.

On Thursday, Scaramucci posted this tweet:

King, who represents the district in which Scaramucci lives, said his New Yorker comments "sounded like a lot of guys I have spoken to late at night after political meetings.

"It's not the orthodox way to do it.

"It's the first week in the job. We'll see where this goes. This is an unorthodox administration.

"Anthony Scaramucci is a tough guy — strong guy — and, obviously, there's a real conflict going on down there with him and Priebus and Bannon."
