Susan Platt, who once served as chief of staff for Joe Biden and is now running for lieutenant governor in Virginia, is calling for the impeachment of President Donald Trump.
"He obstructed justice, continues to profit from foreign governments and even gave secrets to the Russians," she said in a video posted on a Twitter account which purportedly belongs to her. "It's worse than Watergate, and we've seen enough.
"This race is about who will stand up to Donald Trump to protect Virginians. I will do that every single day."
Platt served as chief of staff to then-Sen. Biden from 1995-1997, The Washington Post reported. The newspaper noted she has tried to channel anti-Trump fervor into support for her.
Platt is one of three Democrats running in the June 13 primary, the Post reported. The winner will compete against one of three Republicans vying for the job.
