Fifty-eight percent of registered voters say House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., should forward the articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump to the Senate, a new Harvard CAPS/Harris poll reveals.

The poll also found that 42% say Pelosi should delay sending the two articles of impeachment to the Senate. The survey results were released to The Hill.

"It's clear from the polling that impeachment gridlock won't sit well with the voters," said Mark Penn, the Harvard CAPS/Harris poll director. "Win or lose they want it to move forward and overwhelmingly think [former President Bill] Clinton rules should apply."

The poll, conducted Dec. 27-29, surveyed 2,010 registered voters. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points.
