Poll: Saccone, Lamb in Statistical Tie for Pa. Congressional Seat

Democrat Conor Lamb and Republican Rick Saccone are in a statistical dead heat in the special House election in Pennsylvania, a new poll from Emerson College reveals.

Forty-eight percent of voters favor Lamb ahead of the March 13 special election, while 45 percent back Saccone. The survey has a 4.8 percent margin of error. Seven percent of those polled remain undecided.

Here are highlights from the poll:

  • 48 percent say they have a favorable opinion of Lamb, compared to 33 percent who view him unfavorably.
  • 44 percent have a favorable view of Saccone, while 40 have an unfavorable opinion.
  • 56 percent say they are excited to vote in the election, compared to 7 percent who are not excited at all.
  • 47 percent of those in the district approve of President Donald Trump's job performance and 43 percent disapprove.

The survey, conducted March 1-3, polled 474 likely voters in the district.
