President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Friday to slam the Russia investigation as a "phony witch hunt" and say that he has to "beat" that "and all of the dishonest people covered in the IG report."
"It never ends," the president said in his post.
Trump told reporters Friday that the 500-page report by the Justice Department's inspector general "totally exonerates me."
"There was no collusion," he said. "There was no obstruction.
"And if you read the report, you'll see that."
Inspector General Michael Horowitz concluded that former FBI Director James Comey was "insubordinate" in handling the probe into Hillary Clinton's private email use, though the investigation was not motivated by politics.
He also found that five FBI officials showed hostility toward Trump before his election as president, disclosing in the report that their actions have been referred to FBI officials for possible disciplinary action.
However, Horowitz did not address the origins of the probe into Moscow's meddling during the 2016 presidential election and any possible collusion between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin.
