American voters are divided on President Donald Trump's nomination of U.S. Appeals Court Judge Brett Kavanaugh to succeed retiring Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, according to new Quinnipiac University poll results released Wednesday.
Here are the results of the latest poll of 1,177 voters, conducted between Wednesday and Monday:
Do you believe the Senate should confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court?
- No: 41 percent.
- Yes: 40 percent.
Do you believe Kavanaugh would make the Supreme Court more conservative?
- Yes: 45 percent.
- No: 38 percent.
"At this point, American voters are split down the middle on Judge Brett Kavanaugh," said Peter Brown, the poll's assistant director.
The Quinnipiac poll has a margin of error of 3.5 percent.
