Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has a one-point lead over Republican Donald Trump, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll.
In Rasmussen's daily White House Watch survey:
- Clinton has 43 percent;
- Trump has 42 percent;
- Libertarian Gary Johnson has 6 percent;
- Green Party's Jill Stein has 2 percent;
- 6 percent say they are undecided;
- 2 percent say they prefer some other candidate.
Eighty-two percent of those who took the poll said they are sure of how they will vote. Among that group:
- Clinton has 49 percent;
- Trump has 47 percent.
Among those who said they could still change their minds:
- Trump has 38 percent;
- Clinton has 34 percent;
- Johnson has 21 percent;
- Stein has 8 percent.
Breaking down the results by party:
- 80 percent of Republicans are voting Trump;
- 81 percent of Democrats are voting Clinton.
Voters that are not affiliated with either party prefer Trump by double digits, according to the poll report.
Voters younger than 40 like Clinton, while older voters prefer Trump. The report said that the older the voter, the more likely they have made up their mind about their choice.
Blacks are more sure of whom they will vote for, and their preference is Clinton. Trump leads among whites and other minorities, the report said.
The survey is based on a three-day rolling average of 1,500 voters.
A separate Rasmussen Reports poll revealed that more than 60 percent of voters believe news organizations are biased when it comes to fact checking.
