Nearly six in 10 likely voters say the media is shilling for Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris, with exactly 60% saying reporters try to help the candidate they want to win, according to a new Rasmussen Reports poll released Friday.

According to the survey, 57% of likely voters say Harris has received the best treatment from the media compared to 29% who said the same for Republican nominee Donald Trump. Even 53% of Democrats surveyed said Harris has received the most favorable coverage.

Among unaffiliated voters, 54% say Harris has gotten the best of the coverage, according to the survey.

Just 28% overall said reporters try to offer unbiased coverage, according to the poll. Among Democrats, 44% said they believe reporters are unbiased vs. 45% who say they’re not. Just 23% of unaffiliated voters say reporters are unbiased, with 63% saying they try to help their candidate win.

“President Joe Biden’s strongest supporters are most likely to think the media are unbiased,” Rasmussen wrote in its analysis. “Among voters who Strongly Approve of Biden’s job performance as president, 55% say most reporters try to offer unbiased campaign coverage. By contrast, among those who Strongly Disapprove of Biden’s performance, just seven percent (7%) think most reporters provide unbiased coverage of campaigns.”

Rasmussen Reports surveyed 1,158 likely voters from Aug. 12-14. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.
