The GOP is ready to help any Democrats who want to run on Obamacare in 2014, Republican National Chairman Reince Priebus says.
Appearing Tuesday on Fox News Channel's
"On the Record with Greta Van Susteren," Priebus said he is taking the lead from his Democratic counterpart, U.S. Rep.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who declared, "Democrats will be able to run on Obamacare as an advantage."
The GOP will send letters to 20 Democrats in targeted states Wednesday morning, asking them to appear at a news conference to tell people why they think Obamacare is good for the United States and for their constituents.
"We've also taken the liberty, for those that show up, we've bought the domain names for particular U.S. senators . . . like Mark Pryor, who's running in Arkansas: PryorLovesObamacare.com."
"You guys are so full of mischief," Van Susteren said. "They're not going to show up!"
"Well, you never know," Priebus deadpanned.
"I think you're poking a stick in their eyes," Van Susteren responded. "And if they don't want these websites . . . are you going to use them in the campaign?"
Priebus acknowledged that they might.
"Look, Mark Pryor's the one who said Obama's an amazing success story. It was Mary Landreau in Louisiana that said if her constituents don't like Obamacare they can un-elect her. Well, we're going to give them that shot."
