After helping orchestrate President Donald Trump's shocking 2016 election victory, Reince Priebus is joining CBS as an analyst during the president's re-election campaign.
The announcement was made via press release and Priebus appeared on CBS News' coverage of the Senate impeachment trial Wednesday.
He "will contribute analysis of political coverage on all CBS News broadcasts and platforms," according to the release.
Priebus was the Republican National Committee chairman when then-candidate Trump secured the GOP nomination. The Priebus-led RNC helped assist Trump in the general election victory over Hillary Clinton, who lost the Electoral College despite winning the popular vote on the strength of votes from deep blue states such as Massachusetts, New York, and California – states Trump did not spend time campaigning in.
Priebus then served half of Trump's first year in office as White House chief of staff, but that period was marked by controversy, including the firing of FBI Director James Comey and the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller.
