Democrats lost so badly on Tuesday because they did a poor job getting their message out, says Ed Rendell, the former Pennsylvania governor who also served as Democratic National Committee chairman.
"We did a ****-poor job of giving voters a message," Rendell said Sunday on "The Cats Roundable" on
AM 970 in New York.

"We didn’t have a good national brand," Rendell said. "Look at the vote, and then look at the exit polls. On almost every major issue, people agreed with us."
In states where raising the minimum wage was on the ballot, it passed, he noted.
Rendell said Democrats also have a "courage gap." He said if he were still the Democratic Party chairman he would have bought TV ads showing "ordinary people, who have been helped by policies that our party has stood for, talk about why they’re Democrats.”
Republicans bought ads that criticized Obama and brought their voters to the polls, he said.
"The anti-incumbent, anti-Washington feeling hit us more than it hit the Republicans," he said.
