Hillary: What Would GOP Talk About If Not for Me?

Hillary Clinton, who entered the 2016 presidential race last week, said Monday that her Republican opponents want to talk only about her.

"I think it's worth noting that Republicans seem to be talking only about me," Clinton said during a campaign stop in New Hampshire, reports Politico. "I don't know what they'd talk about if I weren't in the race."

There are three confirmed candidates for president on the Republican side: Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, Kentucky Sen Rand Paul, and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio.

Several Republican candidates and potential candidates attended a GOP summit in New Hampshire over the weekend, and Politico writes that "they spent the weekend blasting Clinton on everything from Benghazi to the State Department email scandal to the highly choreographed roundtables to her roadside lunch stop at Chipotle."

Thus far, Clinton is the only Democrat in the 2016 race. A report Monday, however, said New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio may be positioning himself as a candidate on the left.

Former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley, another Democrat, is also considering a White House run.

Clinton said Monday that she would not focus solely on her political ideology during the campaign.

"I want to embed what I propose as policies, not in ideology, not in some philosophy, but in the real daily lives and experiences of American workers and business owners, and everyone who has a stake in making sure the economy is working again," Clinton said, according to Politico.

Clinton also mentioned her husband, Bill Clinton, on Monday, the first time she has referenced the former president during her week-old campaign.

She said she was "thrilled to be back in New Hampshire … the first place I ever came for any political campaign was in 1991, when I was here campaigning for my husband."

Clinton announced her candidacy last Sunday, and headed for Iowa the next day in a three-car motorcade from her home in Chappaqua, N.Y., to jump-start her campaign.
