CNN: Tillerson Found Out He Was Fired via Twitter

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson learned he was fired by reading a tweet from President Donald Trump, CNN reports.

And CNN executive producer Javi Morgado said the State Department has now confirmed that is the way Tillerson found out about his ouster.

Trump had taken to Twitter on Tuesday morning to announce CIA Director Mike Pompeo was replacing Tillerson.

Mike Pompeo, Director of the CIA, will become our new Secretary of State. He will do a fantastic job! Thank you to Rex Tillerson for his service! Gina Haspel will become the new Director of the CIA, and the first woman so chosen. Congratulations to all!
