Former acting Director of National Intelligence Ric Grenell said President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden undermined American democracy when they spied on then-President-elect Donald Trump.
"As acting director of National Intelligence, I saw the Democrats' entire case for Russian collusion. What I saw made me sick to my stomach," Grenell said. "The Obama-Biden administration launched a surveillance operation on the Trump campaign and silenced many brave intelligence officials who spoke up against it. They presented bogus information as facts and lied to judges and classified anything that undermined their case."
Instead of helping Trump get acclimated to the White House, Grenell said Obama and Biden worked to keep harm his presidency.
"After Donald Trump won the election, when they should have continued the American tradition of helping the president-elect transition into the White House, they tried instead to undercut him even more," Grenell said. "Former Vice President Joe Biden asked intelligence officials to uncover the hidden information on President Trump's incoming national security advisor three weeks before the inauguration."
"That is the Democrats. Between surveillance, classification, leaks and puppet candidates, they never want the American people to know who is calling the shots. With Donald Trump, you always know exactly who is in charge because the answer is you. You are in charge, not lobbyists, not special interests, not warmongers or globalization fanatics. With Donald Trump and Mike Pence, the bulk of the American people -- buck stops with the American people.
Grenell added, "America first is the belief politicians should focus on the quality and dignity of every American and that this duty is fulfilled by promoting the safety and wealth of the American people above all else. That is America first. That is the Trump doctrine, and that, my friends, is four more years."
