Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum blasted reports that say Ted Cruz will not endorse Donald Trump for president, saying he's "very disappointed."
Cruz will reportedly not endorse Trump during his speech at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland Wednesday night. That goes against the pledge he and the other GOP candidates made to support the party's eventual nominee.
"Every person who took to the stage swore they would support the nominee of the party,"
Santorum told The Hill. "Are you a man of your word or not? Are you a woman of your word or not?
"It's not like Donald Trump did something different from when people made that pledge. He was who he was then, he is who is now, and they said they would support them and they did not. That doesn't wash with me, I'm very disappointed."
In another interview Wednesday, Santorum told CNN, "The Republican party has changed," calling it "increasingly blue-collar."
Santorum ran against Trump, Cruz, and others in the 2016 presidential race but ended his campaign in February.
Trump secured the nomination Tuesday night.
