Republican National Committee chair Ronna Romney McDaniel on Monday joined a growing chorus urging Congress to delay or cancel an August break until there is a repeal or replacement of Obamacare, saying "voters are depending on them."

In remarks to Breitbart News, McDaniel said "Republicans are trying to solve a very difficult problem."

"It's not easy, there's a lot of diversity of thought, we're having a dialogue and discussion," she said. "I do think it's critical we find a resolution, and I agree with the president that Congress should not take an August recess until they figure out the repeal and replacement of Obamacare."

"Our voters are depending on them, and that's part of why we were elected to lead, and we need to get that done," she added.

She made a similar plea in a radio interview with Fox News' Todd Starnes.

Last month, Sen. David Perdue, R-Ga., initiated a letter, co-signed by nine colleagues, urging Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., to consider giving up the summer break to finish the healthcare bill, and tend to budget and debt ceiling issues, Axios reported.
