Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas, one of the strongest opponents of raising the debt ceiling above its $14.3 trillion ceiling, is afraid that the GOP’s 84 freshmen won’t adhere to his view. He predicts the Republican establishment will lure the first-timers in to boost the limit, The Hill reports.

"It won't take them very long to be unhappy,” Paul tells Fox Business Network. “That's why the real test is going to be those 80-some new members and how they are going to vote. I [expect] they're going to be talked into it — the majority will be talked into it — because they are going to get some promise they are going to cut back."

The debt ceiling vote represents one of the first important tests of the relationship between the GOP House leadership and conservative insurgents.
