The wife of Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore said Friday that President Donald Trump owes him a thank you for taking the focus off the Russian investigation, Newsweek reports.
"I personally think he owes us a thank you," Kayla Moore said. "Have you noticed you're not hearing too much about Russia? To the president, I would say now is a good time to get some things done in Congress."
Moore's husband has been the target of accusations from women who said he had improper relationships with them when they were in their teens years ago. The Washington Post first reported the claim of a woman who said he initiated a sexual encounter with her when she was 14 and he was 32 in 1979.
"The liberal press, The Washington Post, who endorsed Hillary Clinton, who also endorsed our opponent, gets involved in this race, along with the human rights campaign, the DNC and the Washington establishment — all of the very same people who were attacking President Trump are attacking us," Kayla Moore added.
