Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said Monday Hillary Clinton could possibly be the worst secretary of state in history.
"In almost every area that we can think of, things are worse today than they were on the day Hillary Clinton walked into the State Department," Giuliani said in Youngstown, Ohio before Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump gave a national security speech.
"I think history will write that she was the worst secretary of state at least in our lifetime. And what have they left us? They left us a government that used to be on offense against Islamic extremist terrorism, radical terrorism, to a government that's now purely on defense waiting for the next attack."
ABC15 Arizona posted a video of Giuliani's remarks on YouTube.
Giuliani noted there was not a successful radical Islamic terror attack between September 11, 2001 and President George W. Bush's final day in the White House.
"They all started when Clinton and Obama got into office," said Giuliani, whose 12-minute speech introduced vice presidential nominee and Indiana Gov. Mike Pence.
Giuliani spent a lot of time bashing Clinton, Trump's main opponent in the race for president who has been dogged by scandals surrounding her email use, her family's foundation and her track record as secretary of state.
"She's running on her experience. If I were her, I'd run away from my experience," Giuliani said.
The former "Big Apple" boss also called out Clinton for her "very, very bad security record," saying she wouldn't be able to get a job that required a security clearance.
"She has destroyed more emails than I've ever written," he said.
Regarding Trump and Pence, Giuliani said they "are both exactly what America needs."
