The House of Representatives will have to vote again on the Republican tax bill passed Tuesday because of a technical glitch in the bill.

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy said the do-over will take place Wednesday after the Senate votes on a version Tuesday night with the problem portions removed.

According to various reports, the bill, as passed, contained three violations of the Byrd Rule, which allows for senators to block legislation that would increase the federal deficit beyond 10 years or contains extraneous material.

McCarthy said the Senate will remove or change the relatively minor issues when it votes and that the bill itself is not in jeopardy.

The version voted on Tuesday passed the House 227 to 203.
