White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci said Monday that Attorney General Jeff Sessions should meet face-to-face with President Donald Trump to work out their differences and talk about Sessions' future, CNN reported.

Scaramucci said Trump should be the one to initiate the meeting, CNN's Jeff Zeleny said Monday on "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer." But Trump has yet to do so, Zeleny said.

Trump is said to be incensed at Sessions for recusing himself from the probe of attempted Russian influence on the 2016 presidential election. Sessions' recusal led to the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller to look into the matter, including whether members of Trump's campaign team met with Russian officials.

Twice in recent days Trump has slammed Sessions. Last week he told New York Times reporters he would never have appointed Sessions if he'd known he would recuse, and Monday he tweeted that the "beleaguered" attorney general might want to spend some time looking into Hillary Clinton's connections to Russia.
