Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., tweeted to President Donald Trump asking why he treated Puerto Ricans "differently," regarding the hurricane relief efforts in the U.S. territory.

Schumer’s tweet was in response to a Trump tweet in which the president said that federal help cannot keep the military, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and first responders in Puerto Rico "forever."

The New York senator also commented on the work that remains in Puerto Rico for FEMA.

"Americans are still dying" in Puerto Rico, Schumer added in a follow-up tweet.
