The wives of Donald Trump and Ted Cruz should come together to get the two Republican presidential rivals talking to each other, former Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown said Wednesday.
"The wives should get together," Brown, who served from 2010 to 2013, told Trish Regan on Fox Business Network, referring to Melania Trump and Heidi Cruz. "Bring the guys together, those two guys together."
When Regan challenged Brown about "putting the burden on the women," he responded, "absolutely."
He noted that many of those in leadership positions in Trump's company were women.
"That speaks for itself," Brown said.
Brown endorsed Trump in February.
During the Wisconsin primary race, Trump and Cruz became embroiled in a nasty spat involving their wives that began after a super PAC supporting the Texas senator released an advertisement in Iowa featuring a nude picture of Melania Trump from a 2000 modeling spread in GQ magazine.
Trump fired back, vowing to "spill the beans" about Heidi Cruz and later re-tweeting a post of an unflattering picture of her next to a glamorous photo of his own wife.
At one point on the campaign trail, Cruz branded Trump a "sniveling coward" and later declared "leave Heidi the hell alone."
