Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., on Thursday brushed off rumors of Ivanka Trump launching a primary challenge to fellow GOP Sen. Marco Rubio in the aftermath of the Trump presidency.

Speaking to reporters, Scott insisted that ''nobody has talked to me about it at all. Nobody.''

''I’ve tried to call around. Nobody’s said anything about Florida,'' Scott said, Talking Points Memo reported

Scott, who chairs the Senate GOP’s campaign arm, also shrugged off former President Donald Trump’s vow to primary Senate Minority Whip John Thune, R-S.D. — and appeared  unworried about Trump-backed challengers meddling in GOP primaries.

''I’m supporting incumbents,'' Scott said.

That decision appears to be a change in position, Politico noted.

Ever since his first primary for Florida governor in 2010, Scott was opposed to establishment involvement in primary races — and refrained from ostensibly endorsing Trump in 2016 when Rubio was running against him, Politico reported.

The job of National Republican Senatorial Committee chair is to protect incumbent senators running for reelection, Politico noted.
