Wisconsin Republican Gov. Scott Walker is trumpeting job growth that has vaulted the state into third place in the Midwest in a new campaign ad rebutting his Democratic challenger's criticism of the Badger State's employment picture.

Rival Mary Burke has charged that Wisconsin is in the pits in terms of job growth in the Midwest, and blames Walker for failing to come through on his 2010
campaign promise to create 250,000 jobs in his first term.
"Before we took office, 133,000 Wisconsin workers had lost their jobs," Walker says in the ad, released Sunday and reported by the
Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
"We set a big goal of creating 250,000 jobs because I know Wisconsin can do great things. ... We set big goals. We met most of them. And we're not done yet."
Walker has created about 102,800 jobs since taking office, according to the newspaper's
fact-checker.
Burke, in her own ad last month, said Wisconsin was "dead last in Midwest job growth."

Walker has been on an advertising tear, according to the elections blog
WisPolitics.com.
The latest spot is the second new ad in as many days. The Walker campaign has released three over the past week.
