The Republican plan to pass tax reforms cannot proceed if the party fails to pass its healthcare bill, according to one GOP congressman.
"Tax reform will not happen unless we have healthcare reform done," Rep. Sean Duffy said on Fox News' "Fox & Friends" program on Monday.
On Sunday, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., delayed the chamber's upcoming vote on healthcare until Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., recovers from surgery.
"We're using budget reconciliation, these stupid Senate rules, and in tax reform, it has to be revenue neutral," Duffy added.
"So every tax dollar you move down, another tax dollar has to go up. You take a trillion dollars of Obamacare taxes to move those tax dollars down by a trillion dollars."
