Sen. John McCain indirectly mocked President Donald Trump's deferment from serving in the military due to bone spurs, AZCentral.com reported Sunday.
The jab came during an interview on C-SPAN3, "American History TV," where the Arizona Republican discussed the draft, among other things.
"One aspect of the (Vietnam) conflict, by the way, that I will never ever countenance is that we drafted the lowest income level of America and the highest income level found a doctor that would say that they had a bone spur. That is wrong. That is wrong. If we are going to ask every American to serve, every American should serve."
Trump received several deferments while in college, but upon graduation in 1968, he got a medical deferment due to bone spurs in his heels.
