Sen. Paul: We 'Have No Earthly Idea' Which Bill Will Be Debated

Senators have "no earthly idea" what GOP healthcare bill they will be voting for Tuesday, Rand Paul, R-Ky., told Fox News.

"Senator, what is up for a vote [Tuesday]? Could you update me?" Fox host Neil Cavuto asked Paul on "Your World with Neil Cavuto."

"I thought you were going to tell me," Paul replied. "I thought I was coming on air for you to tell me."

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said the senate will vote on whether to open debate on a healthcare bill, but many Republicans returning to Washington are still uncertain on what their leadership is asking them to vote on.

Paul said senators, "have no earthly idea what we will be voting on [Tuesday] other than that it'll be moving to the House bill, but everybody knows it's not really going to be the House bill."

"Last week they said, well, we're going to move to a clean repeal, the same vote we voted on in 2015, and I said, 'hooray, that's what we should be doing; that's what we promised,'" Paul said. "But now I'm told it may be the new Senate leadership bill."

"So, nobody's told us," he added. "There's a lot of unknowns, and I don't think we should move to the bill with so many unknowns, unless we're going to be told what exactly we're going to move to."
