White House chief of staff Reince Priebus and chief strategist Stephen Bannon on Wednesday slammed reports of a rift between two key aides in President Donald Trump's administration.

"Reince is doing an amazing job," Bannon told The Hill in a joint interview with Priebus. 'We are executing on President Trump's agenda in record time.

"That's because Reince is getting the job done."

Priebus added: "It is a privilege to come to work on behalf of President Trump to serve the American people.

"We are a completely united team dedicated to enacting his bold agenda to bring back jobs and keep this country safe."

Breitbart News, which Bannon once headed, quoted anonymous sources in a report published Tuesday, blaming Priebus for the current turmoil in the White House.

The dispatch suggested Priebus' job was in immediate peril — hinting Bannon and Priebus, the former chairman of the Republican National Committee, represented rival factions within the White House.

Allies of both men, however, ripped the story, saying it was the "creation of rogue outsiders hell-bent on Priebus' destruction," The Hill reported.

"I am a believer in Reince, and the president continues to be well served by his leadership," Jared Kushner, Trump's son-in-law and a senior adviser to the president, told The Hill in a statement.

"Reince has done an excellent job," Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks added to The Hill. "He works tirelessly to carry out the president's agenda and the entire staff is grateful for his dedication and leadership."

Bannon told The Hill he did not know Breitbart was running the story and was angered Priebus would be slammed at such a critical time in the administration's short tenure.
