Rep. Chris Stewart, R-Utah, on Sunday pushed back on the idea that evidence against President Donald Trump is “mounting” in the House impeachment inquiry.

In an interview on ABC News’ “This Week,” Stewart said House Democrats are “in trouble.”

“I don't think the evidence is building at all–and I'm being sincere on this–I think the evidence is crumbling,” he said.

“I think the Democrats know they’re in trouble, that’s why they keep moving the goal posts,” he said.

Stewart added that evidence provided to House impeachment investigators so far “just doesn’t support [impeachment].”
