Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee Saturday described Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine as "an honorable guy" who is "the polar opposite of Hillary Clinton."
"There's an authenticity about him," Huckabee, who oversaw The Natural State when Kaine was Virginia's governor, told Uma Pemmaraju on
Fox News. "That's good because there's not much authenticity about Hillary.
"In many ways, he is the polar opposite of Hillary. He does actually believe what he says.
"He's not somebody who puts away his faith when it's inconvenient for him."
Kaine, whom Clinton selected as her running mate on Friday, is "definitely a liberal," Huckabee said, but added he is still going to disenfranchise Bernie Sanders voters.
"It's going to push a lot of them away — because with Senator Kaine, you still have someone who is essentially tied to all the big-business interests and the corporate interests just like Hillary is.
"He's a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wall Street," the former 2016 Republican presidential candidate said. "Polar opposite of what Bernie Sanders talked about.
"I don't think it's a help at all. If anything, it's a detriment to Bernie Sanders voters."
