Donald Trump has caught up to Hillary Clinton in a new national poll, and is now seen as the more honest and trustworthy of the two.

The Washington Post/ABC News poll released Wednesday morning included third-party candidates Jill Stein and Gary Johnson in its survey of likely voters.

  • Trump: 46 percent.
  • Clinton: 46 percent.
  • Johnson: 3 percent.
  • Stein: 2 percent.

Although tied nationally, Clinton has an advantage in a few important battleground states. She leads Trump in Virginia, for instance, according to another Post/ABC poll.

  • Clinton: 48 percent.
  • Trump: 42 percent.
  • Johnson: 6 percent.
  • Stein: 2 percent.

Clinton has lost the trust of many likely voters, going from tied with Trump to dropping eight percentage points below him - 46 percent to 38 percent.

Democrats with a positive view of Clinton's honesty decreased since September, while Trump's trustworthiness rating only rose slightly.

  • Republicans trust Trump (Sept. 6-9): 86 percent.
  • Republicans trust Trump (Oct. 30-31): 87 percent.
  • Democrats trust Clinton (Sept. 6-9): 86 percent.
  • Democrats trust Clinton (Oct. 30-31): 76 percent.

The Post/ABC poll took place from Oct. 28-31 by telephone, surveying 1,773 voters, 1,182 likely voters, from across the country, with a margin of error of +/- 3 points among likely voters.
