President-elect Donald Trump released the names of those chosen to lead the "landing teams" in various departments to help transition to Trump's administration, the Washington Examiner reports.
Ray Washburne will lead the Commerce landing team. He is a Dallas-based investor and major donor to Trump's campaign as part of the "victory fund" reportedly under consideration to lead the Commerce Department, along with Dan DiMicco who will lead the U.S. Trade Representative landing team.
Tom Leppert, former Dallas mayor who opposed Sen. Ted Cruz during the Republican Texas primary, will lead the Social Security Administration transition team.
Jeff Eisenach, economist with ties to Verizon, and Mark Jamison, former Sprint lobbying team member and head of the University of Florida's Public Utility Research Center, were named to the Federal Communications Commission transition team. Both have publicly opposed net neutrality rules, and Jamison specifically opposed FCC chairman Tom Wheeler's attempt to break up the cable industry's monopoly on set top boxes, according to Fortune.
Last week, Trump announced the first landing team leaders, including Bill Cleveland, former Capitol police officer and former vice mayor of Alexandria, Va., to lead the Department of Justice transition, and former Bush administration official Kiron Skinner to lead the National Security Council landing team, according to Politico.
