President Donald Trump's campaign has released an almost 5-minute-long video that compiles 38 times the president has denounced white supremacy in a pushback against the continued claims being made by Democrat nominee Joe Biden and his running mate Sen. Kamala Harris.
The video clips show the president as recently as this past month and back as far as an interview Trump gave former NBC anchor Matt Lauer in the early 2000s, reports Fox News.
“President Trump wants to prosecute the KKK as a terrorist organization and has condemned White supremacy at least 38 times,” a senior Trump campaign official said. “The Biden campaign continues to sow division and inflame racial tension by spreading this false narrative. Enough is enough.”
The president has been questioned about his stance on the issue since 2017, after he commented that there are good people on "both sides" after the violence in Charlottesville, Va., between counterprotesters and white nationalists.
Trump and Biden also sparred about the issue in the first presidential debate, and the Trump campaign has also pointed to the president's plan for Black America, which designates the KKK and antifa as terrorist organizations, while calling to make lynching a national hate crime.
It also points to Harris' comments during the presidential primary, when she claimed Biden "coddled segregationists."
Tuesday, Biden said during a speech in Warm Springs, Ga. that Trump has failed to condemn white supremacy, and "doesn't believe systemic racism is a problem, and won't say that Black lives matter."
The Trump campaign has also released a series of ads that attempt to cast Biden as having a "history of racist comments," including one called "Joe's Own Words" that compiles comments the former vice president and senator has made, dating back to the 1970s.
The campaign also has several ads geared to show Trump's support for the Black community. They will be cycled in the YouTube masthead, which reaches more than 74 million voters daily. The masthead is a seven-figure ad buy, a senior Trump campaign official told Fox News. The campaign has also secured the masthead for the 72-hour period before Election Day.
