The Trump campaign is pointing the finger at Democrats as the reason why President Donald Trump's former campaign manager Brad Parscale was hospitalized over the weekend, The Independent reports.
After Parscale was taken to the hospital Sunday under the state of Florida’s Baker Act, the Trump campaign issued a statement about the incident, blaming the Democrats.
"Brad Parscale is a member of our family and we love him. We are ready to support him and his family in any way," Tim Murtaugh, the communications director of the Trump campaign, said. "The disgusting, personal attacks from Democrats and disgruntled RINOs have gone too far, and they should be ashamed of themselves for what they’ve done to this man and his family."
According to the South Florida Sun Sentinel, Parscale's wife called police after she said her husband was armed and was threatening to commit suicide.
The Biden War Room, an independent grassroots organization set up to campaign for former Vice President Joe Biden, issued a statement wishing Parscale well.
The group tweeted that politics "takes its toll on people in unfathomable ways."
"Regardless of the differences we have in our beliefs, we at the Biden War Room hope that Brad Parscale is safe, is with his family, and gets everything that he needs to get better," the organization wrote.
Parscale was demoted from his position as the president’s campaign manager earlier this summer. He was reassigned to help the Trump reelection team with digital operations.
