President Donald Trump was "dismissive" of former Chief of Staff Reince Priebus for not "returning fire" after an explosive interview new White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci gave to a reporter for The New Yorker, The Hill reported Friday.

During the interview, Scaramucci made a profanity-laced attack against Priebus and White House chief strategist Steve Bannon. He called Priebus a "paranoid schizophrenic" and a "paranoiac." Scaramucci, who claimed he thought the interview was off the record, was incensed when the reporter tweeted details about a dinner he had with the president, First Lady Melania Trump, Fox News host Sean Hannity and a former Fox News executive Bill Shine.

"They'll all be fired by me," he said of the White House communications staff. "I fired one guy the other day. I have three to four people I'll fire tomorrow. I'll get to the person who leaked that to you. Reince Priebus — if you want to leak something — he'll be asked to resign very shortly."

Scaramucci also on Thursday suggested Priebus was behind the leak of his personal financial information, the Hill reported.

Trump announced on Twitter Friday Priebus was leaving as chief of staff and Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly would take over the position.
