President Donald Trump on Tuesday assailed the media coverage of his summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, tweeting that the "fake news is going crazy."
The president has garnered little support for his performance alongside Putin in Helsinki on Monday, even among the right and his own supporters.
House Speaker Paul Ryan, myriad Senate Republicans and even staunch Trump supporter Newt Gingrich have panned the president's performance, with the former House speaker calling it the "most serious mistake" of his presidency.
Fox Business host Neil Cavuto called Trump's comments "disgusting," and Fox News' "Fox & Friends" panel exhorted the president heed Republicans who have criticized his siding with Putin.
"When Newt Gingrich, when Gen. Jack Keane, when Matt Schlapp say the president fell short and made our intelligence apparatus look bad, I think it's time to pay attention and it's easily correctable from the president's perspective," co-host Kilmeade said Tuesday.
