President Donald Trump Monday dismissed "negative polls" conducted by "fake news media."
While Trump's Twitter post cited election polls by CNN, ABC, and NBC as examples of past "fake news," it did not name the latest surveys to arouse the new president's ire.
However, several polls from the news outlets Trump cited have reported negative results.
A CBS News poll released Friday, for instance, found that 51 percent of respondents opposed Trump's travel order, while 45 percent supported it. Also Friday, a CNN/ORC survey pegged Trump's support among Americans at 44 percent.
In another early-morning tweet, Trump stayed on the "fake news theme," but appeared to shift his attention to criticism that he's giving top advisers too much power over policy.
