President Donald Trump blasted the "dishonest" and "corrupt" media for reports that he is considering replacing one embattled Cabinet member with another — Scott Pruitt for Jeff Sessions.
The latest reporting from CNN is that Trump's reason for supporting Pruitt during his scandal-ridden week is because Pruitt is the president's fill-in for Sessions. The president floated that move as recently as this week, CNN reports.
The Pruitt-for-Sessions move surfaced nearly a month ago when Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, had been steadfast in his stance that Trump better not fire Sessions, when asked about it.
"That's speculation. I don't even know whether that's the real world," Grassley responded.
