President Donald Trump is mulling major changes to his White House staff, including replacing Reince Priebus and the departure of Stephen Bannon, Axios reported.
Priebus is Trump's chief of staff, and Bannon his chief strategist.
A short list of candidates has emerged to replace Priebus, notably Rep. Kevin McCarthy, part of the Republican leadership in the House, Axios reported.
Other candidates, according to Axios:
- Wayne Berman, an operative who worked in George H.W. Bush's administration.
- David Urban, who helped Trump win Pennsylvania.
- Gary Cohn, Trump's economic adviser.
