President-elect Donald Trump said Obamacare is on its way out, according to a Friday morning tweet:

Trump had addressed Obamacare earlier in the week. On Tuesday, the president-elect called on Republicans to hurry the process, telling The New York Times, "We have to get to business. Obamacare has been a catastrophic event."

Trump congratulated the Senate Thursday for its passage of a budget resolution that began the repeal process. He tweeted:

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan discussed the GOP's plans during a Thursday town hall meeting hosted by CNN.

"We want to do this at the same time, and in some cases in the same bill. So we want to advance repealing this law with its replacement at the same time," Ryan said.

"We're working on this as fast as possible," he added, the Republicans will "definitely" be finished within Trump's first 100 days as president.

He took questions from the audience at the town hall, including from a man who supported the act's coverage of those with preexisting conditions. Ryan said he supported coverage of preexisting conditions, as well.

"People just have these things, and we don't want people to go poor or bankrupt because this thing happens to them," Ryan said.

"So we, obviously, want to have a system where they can get affordable coverage without going bankrupt because they get sick. But we can do that without destroying the rest of the health care system for everybody else."
