Former President Donald Trump is planning to launch a super PAC headed by longtime ally Corey Lewandowski.
According to Politico, who attributed the information to multiple people, the decision came on Thursday during a meeting at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in South Florida.
Those attending the meeting included Lewandowski, a former campaign manager for Trump in 2016, Donald Trump Jr., former campaign manager Bill Stepien, former deputy campaign manager Justin Clark, former campaign manager Brad Parscale, and former White House social media director Dan Scavino.
Lewandowski did not respond to requests for comments. Trump spokesman Jason Miller said the former president will announce details about his political operation "in the coming weeks."
“MAGA supporters and candidates supporting President Trump’s America First agenda are going to be impressed with the political operation being built out here," Miller said. "We expect formal announcements of the full team in the coming weeks, which will include some very talented operatives not yet named."
Fox News noted that Trump is vowing to remain the dominant figure in the GOP. The news network pointed out that the former president is pledging to support primary challengers against Republicans up for reelection in 2022 who have crossed him
Trump is also said to be toying with making another White House run in 2024.
