President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Thursday and said he hopes Democrats do not force out House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi.

Pelosi, a California Democrat, has been an opponent for Republicans since she was elected as the first female House speaker in 2007.

Now, she is receiving criticism from within her own party over Democrat Jon Ossoff's loss in the Georgia special congressional election. After a Republican super PAC tied Ossoff to Pelosi, he lost the race to Republican Karen Handel.

"We need leadership change," Rep. Kathleen Rice, D-N.Y., told CNN on Thursday. "It's time for Nancy Pelosi to go, and the entire leadership team."

Rep. Seth Moulton, D-Mass., told Jake Tapper: "It's time for a new generation of leadership in the party."

"Our brand is worse than Trump," said Rep. Tim Ryan, D-Ohio, on Wednesday, adding that parts of the country see Democrats as "not being able to connect with the issues they care about."

Corry Bliss, director of the Congressional Leadership Fund, the super PAC that helped Republicans in the Georgia race said, "If Pelosi ever retired, we'd be in a lot of trouble."
