President Donald Trump on Sunday morning fired off a bitter tweet attack on “politically motivated ingrates” who criticize the federal response in hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico, declaring the government as having done “a great job with the almost impossible situation.”

The tweetstorm also slammed “fake news” reporting on the U.S. effort there.

He also again praised the governor of the island and first responders for doing a “fantastic job.’

The president’s attack on “ingrates” comes in the wake of criticism of Trump’s response to the disaster, including from Pulitizer Prize winning “Hamilton” writer and star Lin-Manuel Miranda, who tweeted over the weekend Trump was going “straight to hell” for lashing out at the mayor of San Juan.
