An anti-Donald Trump activist has launched a fund drive to help pay the legal bills of fellow protestors charged with fighting police and destroying property as they picketed against the presumptive GOP presidential nominee in Albuquerque last week.
Anni Telfer hopes to raise at least $5,000 following the May 24 melee in which protesters injured police with projectiles and caused at least $50,000 in property damage. Several were arrested and authorities are reportedly hunting dozens more,
KOAT reported.
"Hundreds took to the street to reject Trump's racism, xenophobia, and misogyny," Telfer wrote on her pitch on
FundRazr.com, which so far has collected around $100.
She told KOAT.com: "There were a lot of people who took a lot of risks to stand up against Donald Trump and I want to support them. We're supporting anybody who got charged."
