The results of a poll taken in recent days show that Republican Roy Moore is trailing by eight points in the Alabama Senate race that will be decided next month.
A Fox News poll conducted from Nov. 13-15 found the following results:
- 50 percent of likely voters would vote for Democrat Doug Jones. Forty-nine percent of registered voters said the same.
- 42 percent of likely voters said they would vote for Moore. Forty percent of registered voters said the same.
The previous Fox News poll in the race was taken Oct. 14-16 and found that the race was tied at 42 percent among registered voters.
The most recent numbers come as several women have accused Moore of pursuing teenage girls 40 years ago when he was in his mid-30s. Moore has vowed to stay in the race despite calls from many in the Republican Party for him to step aside.
The Dec. 12 special election will determine who holds the seat once occupied by Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
